Hello and a warm welcome to my website. My name is Fareen and I am a BACP registered therapist working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.

Life is precious, and at times, a real challenge. Heartbreak, grief, uncertainty, lack of confidence and self-belief, despair - it can be difficult to know what to do or how to deal with certain ordeals. It can feel frustrating to find ourselves in the same loophole, wondering “when will this end?” or “why can’t I change?”.

To put it simply, being human is messy, and if this is where you are, I welcome you to Point in Time Counseling.

I believe that throughout our lives, there are times where we find ourselves feeling stuck, or in a pit, unsure of what to do or how to feel. My commitment is to help you out of that pit and to support you in finding your footing again.

What does therapy with me look like?

Much like the world we live in, therapy with me is real. It is nurturing, kind, and hopeful, and it is honest, challenging and courageous. There is no ‘quick fix’, nor ‘answer sheet’, but a dedication from me to guide and support you through the process - you do not have to do this alone.

I invite you to a space that empowers you to be you. I take a holistic approach, listening to and paying careful attention to various parts - the mind, body, soul and spirit - however that feels meaningful to you. This allows us to look at you as a whole being, recognising and embracing your complexities. Together we can explore whether these parts co-exist in harmony, what you feel drawn towards and inspired by, and what you want to free yourself from. In our exploration, I encourage you to move from shame and criticism and meet yourself with curiosity and compassion.

The aim is for you to feel better aligned with your values, with a new found sense of joy that you carry within your day-to-day. Point in Time Counseling is about helping you to feel grounded in who you truly are and where you belong, so that you can finally live the life that you’ve always wanted.

How I work

I take a relational, integrative therapeutic approach, drawing on a range of evidence-informed theories, such as Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support your exploration of self. I hold the quality of the therapeutic relationship as central to our work, attending to what emerges in the here and now and how this can facilitate positive change.
